Brown, a California native started her sporting career as a tennis player playing at Pasadena City College and then California State University, Long Beach. She then went on to become a three time US National Champion in Squash.  Playing in multiple World Masters events in England, Australia and Portland, Oregon, where she was a silver medalist. Brown also competed at the 2012 World Squash Masters representing the United States.

Prior to moving to Ireland, she was the Executive Director of the Santa Barbara Squash, a nonprofit afterschool program for low income students. She was an assistant coach at the Santa Barbara Athletic Club for more than two decades.

After moving to Ireland in 2016, Brown took up padel and subsequently qualified as a Level 1 certified by British Padel in July 2016. She now plays for the Irish National Vets Padel Team and has played in the European Vets Championships and Four Nations events.  She is Tennis Director at Malahide Castle Tennis.  She also coaches Pickleball and has an Adult Education class at Portmarnock Community School. Debbie is the 2023 Irish National Champion in ladies doubles with her partner, Sinead Ragonesi-Browne, of Malahide.  Brown has helped to start clubs in Donabate, Clontarf, Sandyford, Bayside and Glasnevin.

Achievements: 2012 World Squash Masters representing the United States. 2023 Irish National Pickleball Champion . Member of the 2023 European Vets Championships team.
