Portmarnock Padel History

Portmarnock Padel Club was founded in 2015, marking the beginning of a vibrant community dedicated to the sport of padel. Our story began with the establishment of our first court at the Portmarnock Sports & Leisure Club (PSLC), creating a space for local enthusiasts to gather, play, and share their passion for the game. The first match being played on 23rd December of that year(Pictured below). A special mention should go to visionaries Peter and Nicola Cranny who not only pushed for the Padel court but also kindly provided seed funding for the endeavour.

A few years later, in 2022, the club expanded with the construction of a second court, a testament to the growing popularity of padel within our community. This addition allowed us to welcome even more players and host a greater variety of matches, tournaments, and events.
Today, the club is home to over 300 players who range from newcomers learning the game to experienced players competing at a higher level. What unites us all is a love for the sport and a shared commitment to fostering an inclusive, friendly, and competitive environment.
